You will come to our clinic and we’ll carry out an internal (transvaginal) ultrasound scan to check your egg reserve, as well as blood tests to check your hormone levels and screen for any conditions that might prevent you donating. We will also talk you through the possible side effects and risks of going through treatment

Step 2

Step 3

Matching

The next stage is when we match a recipient with you. They will receive a document with basic information about you: if healthy, eye colour, hair colour, height and ethnicity. You will never meet and as the donor will never get any information about the recipient.

Step 4

Your donation cycle

On the first day of your next period, you’ll call us and we will provide you with an exact plan.

During your donation cycle, you will need to take medication for around ten days to increase egg production, starting on the second day of your cycle. You’ll take this in the form of injections

Step 4

Step 5

Donating your eggs

We’ll monitor you carefully with scans, and plan with you when the egg collection procedure will happen. On the day, you’ll need to:

  • Come to the clinic 30 minutes before the aspiration, we will tell you what time you need to arrive for
  • No sedation just local anaesthesia and some morphine if needed
  • You’ll be able to return home after a short rest, between 30-60 minutes after. Most women do experience some abdominal discomfort after the procedure.
  • If you have had morphine, you are not allowed to drive for some hours after the procedure.
